About Steve
"Ever tried. Ever Failed. No Matter.
Try again. Fail Again. Fail Better."
Samuel Beckett
This quote by Samuel Beckett is quite apt to introduce me and to see what my coaching business is about. Over a period of 45 years of playing and coaching tennis, running several tennis businesses both in the UK and across Europe, I have failed more often than I have succeeded. Matches, businesses and ideas have all come and gone, but the journey and the opportunity to learn and create has kept me as motivated now as I was at the start of my journey.
This idea or philosophy is not new to players or individuals that come to my coaching services. But journeys need guidance, patience and advice and that is what I aim to bring to my players and pupils. I aim to teach them how to create good habits, how to practice properly, how to talk and respect their situations, and how to have fun and enjoy the pleasure not the pressure of playing sport.
I hope you are able to join me on court or in a conversation and see how I can help you develop your dreams and a way to achieve them!
For the record in the meantime, here is some more information about my 40+ years. The failures aren't highlighted but they are in there I promise!
My main aim is to use performance training to help everyone achieve their potential on court or in other specific areas of their lives. By creating good performance habits, everyone can improve their level of play and enjoyment of their day to day practices. This can lead you to win tournaments, make a school or club team, get promoted to higher leagues or roles at work or to simply enjoy the journey of trying to master certain skills and situations that are put in front of you on a week to week to basis"
